Arts programming is not accessible to all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, due to factors like cost, mobility challenges, or restrictive age offerings. There are too few opportunities for folks of all ages to create and appreciate art together, and we hope to see this change. We imagine a province where intergenerational, age-friendly, arts programming is accessible and available in all communities.

Creative Communities is just the beginning.

Old School has received funding through the New Horizons For Seniors Program to visit communities in the province to inspire arts-related intergenerational opportunities. Our mobile programming space, a retrofitted school bus, will be traveling to chosen communities to offer an afternoon of arts activities and fun (while the bus is parked), with the hope that participants may be inspired to start or continue intergenerational arts programming where they live. Arts activities will be facilitated by professional performers and educators, Claire and Erin, who are also the charity co-founders.

Our bus is accessible via a lift, and pending weather some programming can take place outside of the bus.

This is a community event for all ages and abilities!

Bring friends, family, or come on your own! You will be sure to meet new pals!

Book the bus for your next community, corporate, or family event!

The Old School Bus is designed to bring people together. Make art, paint the bus, have a sing with us, or learn a dance together. Our participatory programming makes it possible for the young and young at heart to take part and enjoy being creative together. Self-led expressions like letter writing, simple loom weaving, and coloring are available on board and we are open to tailoring the bus visit to your particular needs.

*All proceeds after supply and facilitation costs support Old School's intergenerational work.
